Congratulations to the Wayne County Varsity Girls Softball Champions 2012.
Congratulations to Lincoln High School's Zac Rea for winning the "Wayne County Cruiser of the Week" award for Week 1 of the Spring Sports season, March 26th to March 31st. Zac provided a season opening spark for the Lincoln baseball team with his arm and his bat, and the Golden Eagles beat Oldenburg Academy 4-0. Rea pitched six scoreless innings with 9 strikeouts. He was also 2-for-4 at the plate with two walks and a run scored.

Congratulations to Lincoln High School's Sydney Griffin for winning the "Wayne County Cruiser of the Week" award for Week 2 of the Spring Sports season. Sydney was 4-1 pitching last week for the Lincoln softball team, including 3 complete games and winning the Lincoln Invitational championship. Griffin struck out 52-batters during her 28-innings on the mound! She also led the team in RBI last week.
Congratualtions to Evan Underwood for being named the Paladium-Item Athlete of the week! Evan won three events in the Golden Eagle home track meet against Winchester and Union County. Evan took home first place in the 110 and 300 hurdles and in the high jump
